Visitors to our website

When you visit one of the Cherwell websites we collect standard internet log information and details of visitor activity, such as, requested files (pages, media, and other files), the IP address of the visitor, the web browser version, and the date and time of the visit. This information is only used to identify the popularity of the specific parts of the site, and current visitor trends so that we can identify changes that we may need to make to the site to provide the best possible experience for our visitors. The information collected by the internet logs does not identify any specific individual person.

At Cherwell we also use Google Analytics to help us identify where our visitors are coming from, for example visitors that have followed a link from one of our marketing campaigns, and to identify behaviours of visitors, for example the path through the site that they have taken. This information does not identify specific individuals, and is used by Cherwell to analyse the impact of any marketing activities that we carry out and to identify areas of interest on the site so that we can make future improvements to the site or to identify the demand and interest in specific product lines. Any data that you submit to us from the website, for example for the creation of accounts and delivery addresses, or orders, will be used in the normal course of our business to provide you with the products and services that you have requested or any relevant notices or information about our business or the products and services that you have purchased from us.

As a result of requesting information from us or placing an order with us we will contact you using the details provided by you to update you on the status of your request or to provide you with the results of that request.

Mailing list

When you sign up or purchase with Cherwell we may add you to our mailing list for select information relating to your purchase(s) or other communications as appropriate. We may from time to time use a third party to assist us with providing this service, but they are only allowed to use the information to send out mailings that we specify. We have hold the details of people who are signed up to our mailing list so that we can provide this service. If you no longer want to be on our mailing list for communications other than those related to purchases, contact us to request removal.

Credit Agencies

In order to process your application we will supply your personal information to credit reference agencies (CRAs) and they will give us information about you, such as about your financial history. We do this to assess creditworthiness and product suitability, check your identity, manage your account, trace and recover debts and prevent criminal activity. We will also continue to exchange information about you with CRAs on an ongoing basis, including about your settled accounts and any debts not fully repaid on time. CRAs will share your information with other organisations.
